Help and support for the ShiftGoal iOS application.

About ShiftGoal

ShiftGoal helps hourly-paid workers track shifts, calculate expected earnings, compare payments, manage work-related expenses and monitor income goals.

ShiftGoal stores your information locally on your device and may synchronize supported records through your private iCloud account when iCloud sync is available. ShiftGoal does not require a separate account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my information stored?

ShiftGoal stores your workplaces, shifts, payments, goals, expenses and related records locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData storage.

When you are signed into iCloud and iCloud services are available, ShiftGoal may also synchronize supported records using Apple's CloudKit service and your private iCloud database. This can allow your information to sync or restore between devices associated with the same iCloud account.

ShiftGoal does not operate its own server for storing your records.

Does ShiftGoal sync with iCloud?

ShiftGoal can use your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit service when iCloud is available on your device.

You can review iCloud-related status and options from Settings → Sync with iCloud inside the app.

If iCloud is unavailable, ShiftGoal continues working with local storage, although synchronization and cloud restoration may not be available.

How are earnings calculated?

Earnings are estimated using the hours, hourly rate, breaks, overtime, tips and bonuses entered by you. ShiftGoal is a personal tracking tool and is not an official payroll system.

Can I use ShiftGoal for multiple workplaces?

Yes. You can create multiple workplaces with different hourly rates, overtime rates and payment records.

How do I protect my information?

You can enable Face ID protection from the app's Settings screen. Authentication is handled by Apple's operating system. ShiftGoal does not receive or store your biometric information.

How do Home Screen widgets work?

ShiftGoal can display a summary on your Home Screen using a widget. The app shares a limited snapshot with the widget through an Apple App Group stored locally on your device.

How do I export my information?

Open ShiftGoal and go to Settings → Where is my data?. You can export your records as CSV files and save or share them using the iOS share sheet. Exports are initiated by you.

How do I delete my information?

Individual records can be removed inside the app.

Uninstalling ShiftGoal normally removes locally stored app data from your device.

If your information has previously synchronized with your private iCloud account, deleting the app does not necessarily remove the copy stored in iCloud. Synchronized information may become available again after reinstalling ShiftGoal while using the same iCloud account.

You can manage iCloud data using controls provided by Apple through your device and Apple account.
